New Patient Information

Carolyn S. Moody, D.M.D. is accepting new patients. The American Academy of Pediatric Dentists recommends that a child’s first dental examination occur no later than the child’s first birthday.

At your child's first visit, the hygienist or dentist will clean your child’s teeth and apply fluoride. Following the cleaning, the dentist will complete a comprehensive examination of all hard and soft tissues of the mouth to ensure proper growth and development. Depending on the examination, the dentist may order diagnostic x-rays to further evaluate your child’s oral health.

If your child is being referred to our office from another dentist, our dentists will perform a comprehensive exam on your child and consult with you on any recommended treatment. Treatment will not be performed at the initial appointment.

Appointment

Once you make an appointment at our office, that time is exclusively reserved for your child. If, for some reason, your child can no longer make their appointment, please call us with 24-hours notice so that we can reschedule the appointment.

Our office requires that the custodial parent or legal guardian accompany the patient to the initial appointment. If you are the legal guardian, you must provide legal proof of guardianship. If documentation is not provided, we will not be able to honor the appointment time and it will be rescheduled.

We encourage parents stay with their child throughout the dental appointment; however, if bringing additional children to the appointment, we kindly ask that parents remain in the reception area. This enables our team to provide undivided attention to your child.

Payment

Payment is expected at the time services are rendered. For your convenience, we accept cash, Visa, Discover, American Express, and MasterCard.

Insurance

We accept most dental insurance plans. Please familiarize yourself with your child's insurance plan, paying close attention to co-pays. Our accounting staff will prepare all the necessary forms for your dental benefits. However, we remind you that your specific policy is an agreement between you and your insurance company.

Please know that you are responsible for your total obligation should your insurance benefits result in less coverage than anticipated. We do not render our services on the basis that insurance companies will pay all of our fees. We base our treatment on what is best for you.
